The astra natural stone heating is a radiation heating system

The special electrical heating element is integrated in the interior of a 3 cm thick plate of marble or granite.

Because of its position in the middle of the stone, it heats up the stone gently. The linear thermal expansion is the same in all directions. The stone does not fault like it is the case when heating it up only from the rear side.

The grooved channels for the heating element can be compared to the expansion joint in floor pavements. They avoid the formation of cracks. And thanks to special technological procedures that we apply also the VDE approved heating element can expand without breaking.

The heated natural stone emits its energy as radiation heat. This effect is well known from the sun and tile stoves.

In order to comply the security guidelines requested by the VDE (Association for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) we have installed two independent temperature sensors in the astra natural stone heating; they turn off the heating when the heat can not be dissipated correctly (due to full or partial covering of the heating device) and when the temperature reaches the admissible critical values of the system. The system has a double insulation and the protection against humidity was controlled according to VDE with water jets.

If you comply with all the other installation instructions for plumbed rooms, you can also use the astra natural stone heating in areas with high humidity.
